It’s You: Book One

It’s You, book 1 by Katy Regnery writing as KP Kelly is NOW LIVE!

“Simply amazing! It’s You is everything we wished for Jacob and Bella except better. The love between two characters has never been felt so strongly through the pages as it has with Jack and Darcy. An absolute must read for any fan of true love, soulmates and men with sexy beards.” – New York Times bestselling author, Heidi McLaughlin

“I belong to you.  And you belong to me.  For what is bound cannot be unbroken.” ~Jack and Darcy

K.P. Kelley, aka Katy Regnery just blew my bind with It’s You, the first installment in a paranormal duo that serves as the author’s first of what will hopefully be many more paranormal releases to come. I have been a fan of this novelist for a long time, but It’s You just bowled me over and left me a hot mess because I am irrevocably in love with these inspiring characters and this incredibly innovative story about transcendent love, massive loss and heart-breaking, life-altering secrets!!

It’s You is a cleverly written display of creative genius that has me hooked!!! Honestly it is one of the most exciting paranormal novels that I have read in years.

This author literally makes you feel the magic as you explore this mythical tale about young love that spawns an eternal, forbidden union between two teenagers from entirely different worlds. It is reminiscent of some of the themes in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet but it also has a paranormal twist on the events that are at the heart of the novel.

Fifteen-year-old Darcy Turner shares a passionate, life-changing kiss with Jacque Beauloup (aka Jack) the summer before his eighteenth birthday. The kiss ignites a fever and obsession within her that she is unable to let go of in spite of distance and time. It is all-consuming and results in a supernatural connection that changes both of their lives forever due to Jack’s mystical heritage. Her heart shatters into a million pieces when he disappears the next day without a trace, seemingly severing what she was initially sure was an eternal bond between them.

When the boy returns two decades later he has grown into an extremely handsome, intense man with a mysterious allure who has come back to claim what is undeniably his. Her world tips on its axis as the inferno that raged between them reignites with an intensity that staggers them both. Ancient, undisclosed truths that have been hidden for hundreds of years are inevitably revealed that jeopardize Darcy and Jack’s safety and create life-threatening, perilous circumstances that could possibly doom their newfound love.

Intrigued yet? Allow me to continue!!!

This novel’s greatest success is the wistful and romantic way that the author conveys the passion that Darcy and Jack share as a result of their otherworldly love affair.

“It was as though her heart exploded too, and she felt the full unbridled, unfettered force of her feelings for Jack Beauloup—feelings that hadn’t lessened over the long years away from him, but had amplified to such a pitch that they crashed over her like sound, like waves, like certainty in a coupling fraught with ambiguity…She knew in that moment, as her heart contracted…she was bound to Jack. She belonged to him as she always had.” ~Darcy

“I love you. With everything I am. With everything I’ll ever be… No matter what happens between us, Darcy Turner…I love you forever.” ~Jack

“The reality was that Darcy felt as deeply for Jack as he felt for her. She had never felt this sort of visceral, invasive…love for anyone, ever in her life, and all other previous relationships faded, gray and gauzy, against the vibrant totality of his hold on her heart.” ~Darcy.

Also, the amount of research that the author put into this book is mind-boggling. Ms. Regnery immersed me in an entirely new world ripe with customs that ensnared me and catalyzed a fascination with this book that I will never escape from! For instance, the French language is prevalent throughout this novel and the attention to the Métis people and the culture that the novel presents is a masterful example of epic storytelling that is captivating, enthralling and magnetic in is power.

This book gave me butterflies and goosebumps. It made me smile and elicited tears. It’s You warmed me like a comforting cup of hot tea on a chilly day at the same time that it consumed me with worry for Jack and Darcy’s predicament.

I want to be absolutely clear: Katy Regnery is this like this bookworm’s fairy godmother; she waved her magic wand with It’s You and left me awed and amazed by the enchanting effect of her words.

There is a stunning cliffhanger that left me saddened beyond belief, but that is only because my unquenchable thirst for this amazing novel was left unsatisfied. YES!!!! I am waiting with bated breath for the part two of the series!

When it comes to paranormal romance this is where it is at, because It’s You is one of my best reads of 2016.

That is this paranormal lover’s final word.

Overall: 10/5 stars!!!
Heat: Read it and weep! *snickers*

the most beautiful boy in the world kissed me.
I’ve never been able to forget.
Perhaps it was his jet-black hair,

the intense way he looked at me…
or the fact that he awakened my passion for the first time,
at once otherworldly yet heartbreakingly real.
But after that kiss, I never saw him again.

His name was Jack Beauloup.
Jack, my “Beautiful Wolf.”

Twenty years passed. He has returned. For me.
