Review: Out of Love

She’s the only one who makes me wish for the impossible. “  ~Foster

R.C. Boldt’s Out of Love is a perfect combination of straight comedy, suspense, show-stopping romance and fiery, red-hot sex that leaves you craving more.

In other words, it is 322 pages of pure perfection!!!

Out of Love is the story of Foster Kavanaugh, a former Navy Seal who runs his own security firm, TriShield Protection.  He hires Noelle Davis, a beautiful, curvaceous blonde who is recovering from a break-up that shattered her heart and damaged her spirit.  Eventually, Noelle’s dark past comes back to haunt her and Foster steps in to save the day.  He assumes the role as her protector and what follows is a brilliant story line that will keep you on the edge of your seat and make you laugh at the same time that you want to cry.  And make no mistake about it:  Out of Love will certainly steam up your kindle! 🔥

What makes Out of Love so remarkable is that the author has managed to incorporate so many themes into such a meaningful, delightful piece of art.  I fell in love with these characters because they both had their own unique set of issues that made them tremendously imperfect, yet they were so perfect for each other.

Foster Kavanaugh is sinfully sexy but he comes with his own set of demons.  He was deeply traumatized by his experience in the military and suffers from PTSD; as a result, he experiences horrific nightmares that have devastated and emotionally crippled him.  Noelle Davis is struggling to move on from an abusive relationship, and although she exudes an air of authority in the office, deep down she struggles with her own set of insecurities and fears.

Noelle is the perfect combination of vulnerability and strength. I adored her character because she is a true firecracker with a smart mouth and feisty spirit. She keeps Foster on his toes; the witty banter and back and forth between Noelle and Foster is hilarious in a way that had me laughing to the point of tears!!! They both give as good as the get; this is one of the main elements of Out of Love that kept me thoroughly enchanted with this novel. These two go at it and they go at it hard…in more ways than one! 😉

And Foster…this man is *everything* that a hero should be.  He is strong, protective, possessive and dominate.  That dirty mouth of his had me shaking my head more than once throughout the novel.  Please note that that is a *very* good thing!!!!  Normally I would leave a quote to illustrate my point, but the filth that escapes his lips is truly something to behold; you simply *must* read it for yourself!!!!  Foster is also guarded, but once he latches on to Noelle he is determined never to let her go and the intensity at which he safeguards her safety is beyond swoon-worthy.  He is a hero that you will love to love, the essence of the alpha male in every sense of the word.

What really endeared this novel to me is the beautiful way that R.C. Boldt portrays how Foster and Noelle fight so hard to resist their animal attraction but eventually succumb to the magnetic connection between them.  There are moments when they let down their guard with each other and allow themselves to reveal their weaknesses, and at that point you cannot help but feel their pain and root for them to love each other as hard as they have fought to stay away from each other.

And the suspense!!!!  LAWD!!! This story made me literally bite my fingernails because I was so worried about what would happen next.  It is a true page-turner, and if you enjoy love stories that feature a suspenseful element then this book is definitely one that you should not miss.

Last but not least, Out of Love is heartrending and tender in a way that moved me to tears at the same time that I nearly rolled out of my seat in boisterous laughter because of the antics of these two characters.

This book is *everything* to me.  Right now I only have one word to describe Out of Love:  masterpiece.

Read it!!!

That’s my final word.

Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Heat: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Foster Kavanaugh, former Navy SEAL, knows what it’s like to be the top dog, the man in charge, the one calling the shots. Now that he’s running his own security consulting firm, not much has changed.

Except the curvy blonde he hired as his office manager.

Noelle Davis has been through the damn ringer. Swearing off men after escaping a toxic relationship, she’s grateful for a fresh start—new job included. Of course, her job isn’t tranquil and calm. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. Because her boss is the most infuriating man on the planet.

And, not to mention, sexy as hell.

Foster has limits. Rules. No attachments allowed because he doesn’t do love—and Noelle Davis foiled that plan and took a red pen to his list of rules. With her smart mouth and quick witted banter, he found the woman beginning to creep past his defenses.

When circumstances put Noelle in a perilous position, the first person to come to her rescue is none other than Foster Kavanaugh. She gets to see the man in action—not as her aggravating boss, but the man who will stop at nothing to ensure her safety.

The same man who makes her want to reconsider her self-imposed embargo of men.

The man she wants to get to know now that she’s seen another side of him.

The man who makes her want…more.

But is more possible when you’re OUT OF LOVE?

**Out of Love is a full-length, standalone novel that does NOT need to be read in conjunction with any other book. **
