Please note: that is a good thing!!
Janine Infante Basco’s Drifter is one of those novels that will eviscerate you because of its powerful meaning. At the same time, it will leave you yearning for more!
When you read Drifter you will be overwhelmed, overcome and just plain flabbergasted by the passionate love story that is portrayed in this unforgettable, harrowing story of redemption, love and loss.
This book has all of the features that come together to create something that is absolutely unforgettable, memorable and just plain extraordinary.
To say that it is impressive is an understatement, because Drifter is straight up real in a way that is difficult to convey with words.
Let me break it down…
Stryker is the hero and he embodies that term in every sense of the word.
He is a sexy, sinful and mentally troubled ex-Marine who turns to the Satan’s Knights Motorcycle Club for comfort and security as he paves his way to recovery from his traumatic experience in the military. He is a veteran who has dark past and struggles with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. As such, he is like a ship who seeks a lighthouse for guidance in a sea of darkness as he maneuvers his questionable path into an uncertain future.
On the road to discovery he encounters Gina, a strong woman with her own set of goals and morals that attract Stryker from the moment that that they encounter each other. The palpable sexual tension between them leads to cataclysmic love affair that breaks them both down as they rip into each other body and soul.
Normally, I write long reviews filled with quotes to demonstrate how much that I enjoyed my experience reading a novel.
Here, I feel that less is more because the author’s writing speaks for itself.
Ms. Basco ruined me; I experienced the same spirit of gut-wrenching loss and awe-inspiring eagerness, devotion and passion that Stryker and Gina experienced as they leapt over the hurdles that they encountered and raced towards everlasting love like their hearts depended on it!!
All I have to say is that Drifter is one of those books that one must experience firsthand.
It is one of those novels where the characters experience a delicate dance filled with intrigue, passion, suspense and a surprising elegance in times of love and war.
The love scenes are downright sinful. YES!!!!!! I melted. Gasped. This book is HAWT!!!! That is only part of what makes this book so addictive!
Be forewarned: there is violence and it is intense. It is unequivocally necessary and oh so essential to the story.
In short, this novel is everything that the events surrounding a motorcycle club should be.
I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!!!
