Title: Black Truth
Series: Twisted Fate #2
Author: Kristin Mayer
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Release Date: October 6
This is one of those “spoiler free” reviews where it is absolutely necessary to remain ultra hush-hush. 😱
I will not even mention the hero and the heroines’ names because I want you to be intrigued, especially if you have not read part one in the series (White Lies).
To do otherwise does not do Kristin Mayer’s Black Truth the justice that it deserves.
I bet you are interested already. 😉
The first thing I want to say is that this is NOT a standalone.
If you have not read White Lies, please stop reading now. You must read part one first!
I feel obligated to say that when part one of the series (White Lies) ended I was awestruck, stupefied and just plain stunned.
I sat there amazed, wondering how in the world I missed any clues that the author provided that could possibly lead to ***that*** ending?
That cliffhanger was extraordinary.
Straight up staggering.
Kristin Mayer slayed me but enraptured me.
I fell in love with this author because of the intensity that she conveyed with her writing but the events surrounding the end of White Lies made me hate her at the same time!
I was yearning for more!!
I instantly craved the next episode featuring these characters and their heart breaking story and I was angry that I had to wait to receive it!!
The real question was this: how on earth did the author managed to stump, startle and astonish me at the same time????!!!!!
Of course it is obvious that I have been eagerly anticipating Black Truth ever since I finished White Lies.
All I am going to say is that Black Truth picks up right where White Lies left off.
NOTHING is what it seems.
Want to know what I loved most about Black Truth?
How real it is.
The journey that these two characters take showcases the fact that the path to true love is never easy.
It proves that there will be difficulty and perhaps even heartbreak along the way.
True love can be a hurricane.
After the storm dissipates and the calm resumes the aftermath is what matters most.
THAT is what love is!
I yearn to say so much more…
But I cannot elaborate since this is a spoiler free review!
I wish that I could divulge more details but to do so would compromise the journey that you as the reader experiences while reading this book!
At this point I think that it is appropriate to talk about the HEAT and passion these characters share!
In spite of the misery that they dole upon each other they do not fail to light up the night with an all consuming, erotic and passionate glory in between the sheets!
The love scenes nearly rendered me catatonic. 😍
My GAWD!!! 💜
All I can say is that this book is EPIC.
It is SO worth the emotional turmoil that you will experience as you take this journey.
This is part two in the Twisted Fate series and this book is so deliciously twisted, steamy and gratifying that I need to have some vodka to calm me down as I write this review.
That is my final word.
The lies all make sense now.
The answers I once sought are no longer a mystery … but everything I found only leads to more questions.
They say it’s better to have the cruel truth rather than a comfortable delusion. I’m not sure if I believe that anymore.
Sometimes the black truth is scarier than the white lie.
Kristin Mayer is a wife, a proud mother, and a full-time Analyst and Import Manager. Since an early age, she has always enjoyed reading and writing. While visiting her father one weekend, he suggested that she should take up writing again. With family and a career, she didn’t give it a lot of thought, until a story entered her mind and wouldn’t leave. It just kept forming and developing over a couple of months.
At the beginning of 2013, she decided to sit down and write it all down, but she kept it to herself. One sentence developed into two, and before she knew it, she had the makings of a novel.
Kristin tries to live life to the fullest during every moment. She loves to travel and meet new people. She holds a degree in International Business and uses it daily in her job. Kristin now adds “author” on her list of jobs, and feels very blessed and thankful.
